Its because she died

This story might sound like a movie but believe me when I tell you that this is a true story.
It’s something which normally happens in movies but this time it’s real.
You know blogging makes one to come across unique individuals and to do funny things.
Before blogging, I never went to a sports bar but when I started blogging I just realized that it is in sports bars and beer halls that one gets real life stories which cannot be found anywhere else.
My belief is that most men go to beer halls after a disappointment on the belief that when they get drunk, they will forget every thing
You will never understand why most men sleep at night clubs until you talk to them.
I was at Extreme sports bar, the reason being that I wanted to get to know the reason why most men drink to an extent that they forget that they have children at home when I met Peter who told me a story which left me speechless
He had been customarily married to Loveness and they were staying in South Africa since things are a bit tough in the country with the reports that unemployment is now more than 70%.
These two bought two houses, one in Nkulumane and one in Mganwini in which the house in Mganwini was registered in Loveness’s name and the other was registered under Loveness’s younger sister’s name.

When I asked Peter why this was the case, he responded by saying that he did not have a passport when he went South Africa for the first time and as a result he must have misplaced his Zimbabwean identity card along the way which explains why he opted for a South African identity card instead.
When he got employed, he sent Loveness money to get a passport and she joined him in South Africa.
The first house was bought in 1999 and the second one was bought in 2006.
Peter and his wife Loveness were okay with the arrangement until death took away Loveness in 2012 before these two could change ownership of one of the houses once Peter replaced his identity card.
Loveness’s death was a turning point in Peter’s life as his in-laws took over two of the houses and Peter now has nowhere to stay whenever he comes to Zimbabwe.
The matter was taken to the customary marriage court and Peter lost the case as he did not have tangible evidence that he was married to Loveness as his in-laws claim that they don’t know him
According to Mr Phumulani Mpofu, the programs manager at Trinity Project whose organisation deals with issues of inheritance, when a person dies customarily married ,witnesses are needed at court and in this case Peter’s chances of winning are slim as there is no one who is willing to witness for him.
What Peter is facing is one of the several challenges that men meet when they venture into a marriage
How they wish they were single

I think this should be a lesson to both men and women. It is always good for people that I assume will be loving each other to get married legally for their own security and that of children. Peter's case is not an isolated one, and its something that both men and women face which sometimes can also hit innocent children

good human interest piece, I think people go into relationships and marriages in such a rush and they tend to forget that there are people out there who are out to cash in on such instances and this case is no different. Peter was so trusting of Loveness and look where that got him. Would love to read a piece on what different people think about signing pre nuptuail agrreements before marriage
